You're right about the local elections being the really important, albeit unglamorous ones. If we can't get good people elected at the local level, how in the world can we expect to have decent candidates at the national level. And well, I'm still hoping that some discontented Democrat or Republican will mobilize sizeable numbers of voters to support a candidate from an alternate party. (Not for this election specifically and I have no answers as to how this should happen, it may just be my pie in the sky dream).
